CFCC offers a whole range of options for beginners and intermediate CrossFitters alike who wish to examine the effects of Nutrition on their Performance and Body Composition. Take a look at the below and if you have any questions feel free to email email@example.com.
The gym does go through collective month-long Nutrition Challenges at three different points of the year. We call the Challenge, CFCC BCCC (CrossFit Center City Body Composition Change Challenge) and roll out Nutrition Seminars, Q&A Sessions, lots of blog posts and videos about food and a big fat pot o’ gold at the end for the person that creates the most change in 30 days. So far the end of EVERY challenge has created some amazing changes!
The next challenge starts in September! You can read all about it here.
TO PURCHASE ANY OF THE CONSULTATIONS BELOW, head to our Mindbody site and click on “Online Store”. Remember: you MUST be a member of CFCC to purchase.
• Option 1: Beginner Consultation
Who it’s for? The beginner consultation is the perfect jumping off point for any member who’s new to CFCC* or just new to thinking about food and nutrition, CFCC style!
What you’ll get: An outline of How CFCC Eats along with dozens of resources and recipes to get you started. Once you study the outline, you’ll schedule a one hour meeting with one of CFCC’s Accountability Counselors (Meg, and Abbey) to answer any questions, take pictures and measurements to get you started, and get suggestions on how to maximize your performance, health or aesthetic results by eating Good Food.
What We Need From You: A commitment to keep a food log for three days before your appointment. BE HONEST – we can’t offer tips if we don’t have a clear picture of how things are going currently – but DON’T FREAK OUT. We don’t need to know that you ate 3.72 ounces of French fries with .04 ounces of ketchup. Just tell us generally what you’re eating, an idea of how much, and when.
9am – 3 strips of bacon, 3 eggs, glass of orange juice, hash browns, coffee.
2pm – Chipotle burrito with rice, chicken, veggies, salsa, guac. Iced tea.
Cost: $50 for regular members / $35 for students
*You must be a member to be eligible for this consultation.
• Option 2: Nutrition Accountability 101
Who’s it for? Anyone who’s interested in focusing on eating well, maximizing good performance, or feeling better in general. Whether or not you’ve completed a CFCC BCCC in the past, this option is for you (but please note that you must have either completed a BCCC OR a complete Nutrition 101 in order to “graduate” to the Intermediate/Maintenance option outlined farther down.
How it’s structured: Nutrition Accountability 101 is a six week cycle in which we ask you to do something that seems simple, but always ends up being a little tricky – set a goal and STICK TO IT. This isn’t a “paleo challenge” or even a BCCC (although, if you did the Spring 2012 BCCC the structure will seem familiar to you). We’re not going to prescribe burpees as punishment if you eat a cookie, and we’re not going to tell you that carbs are the devil. Instead, we’re going to ask you to take a hard look at your eating habits and make a commitment to focus on improving them for six weeks. Don’t worry – we won’t ask you to do it alone! You’ll work with a counselor once a week for the entire duration of the 101 program, and will review food logs at each meeting to discuss what’s working and what isn’t. If your goals include leaning out or gaining mass, we’ll take before/after pictures and measurements so you can see what amazing results are possible with just a short amount of real focus. Plus, CFCC has an incredible community of people who love Good Food – check out the chatter on the BCCC page on Facebook for just a little slice of how you’ll be supported by all of your friends.
WORD TO THE WISE – when we say commitment, we mean we want COMMITMENT! Keep in mind that we will ask you to do some stuff that may seem tough if not impossible during the course of this program – like cutting back a LOT on your sugar and alcohol consumption. As we say constantly and as many past participants can attest, life is full of special occasions both big (graduations!) and small (bad day at work) that often results in you, face down in a plate of cake or a keg of beer. It may seem like there’s never a convenient time to be without this stuff for six weeks, but we promise, it’s worth it. Take the plunge!
Here’s how it works (PS: You may note that this time frame still matches up spectacularly with that of the September BCCC. If you want to maximize your results for the BCCC, you’re absolutely permitted to purchase this package and time it accordingly. Please note that the $20 cost for the BCCC will not apply.
WEEK 1 – 1 hour introductory meeting with your counselor. You’re required to log your food [link to food log] for 3 days prior to this meeting. In this meeting you’ll discuss your goals and the best way to achieve them (including what a good food log really looks like!) If necessary, you’ll take “before” photos and measurements.
WEEK 2, 3, 4, 5 – You’ll meet once a week for 30 minutes with your counselor to review your food log and see what’s working and what isn’t.
WEEK 6 – 45 minute final meeting with your counselor in which you revel in your success, marvel at how amazing you feel and rejoice that you don’t even WANT sugary cereal for breakfast anymore. Then, you’ll take “after” pictures and measurements as necessary and talk with your counselor about how to reintroduce yourself into the “real world.”
COST: $175 for regular members ($250 for couples) / $125 for students
(If you’ve completed the Beginner’s Consultation and decide to continue with the 101 program, your BC payment will be applied to this one).
• Option 3: Intermediate/Maintenance Consultation:
Who’s it for? Already completed a BCCC? Well aware that doughnut consumption is no longer an acceptable way to increase your deadlift, and pop-tarts are off the list of good breakfast foods? If you’ve been eating well since the BCCC and just want to check in, need to adjust your eating to match a change in performance goal or life situation, if you’ve simply gone Off the Rails and need a gut check – a Maintenance Consultation is for you!
What you’ll get: A 45 minute meeting with the counselor of your choice. You provide us with a food log in advance for review. Depending on your goals, we can also take pictures and measurements for your own reference.
Who’s Eligible? Anyone that’s completed a past BCCC, a Beginner Consultation, or the Nutrition Accountability 101 program.
COST: $40 for a single session / $110 for 3 (expires 3 months from date of purchase) / $200 for 6 (expires 6 months from date of purchase).
